The legendary Gulf of Tonkin, northwest arm of the East Sea, is bounded by China and Vietnam. Our cruise is the first of its kind to discover three different bays and its largest island.
Halong Bay
Halong bay, in the Culf of Tonkin, includes some 1,600 islands and islets. Forming a spectacular seascape of limestone pillars. The Bay is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site.
Catba Island
Half of its area is covered by a National Park, which is home to the highly endangered Cat Ba languor and other rare mammals. On the Island we have opportunity to cycle or walk through the rain forest, we come to see the Canon hill and the Underground hospital. We meet local fishermen and learn about their daily life
Lan Ha Bay
A place still unspoiled due to its distance from Halong Bay and its open sea conditions. Lan Ha Bay sits between Cat Ba Island, to the east, and Halong Bay, to the south. The Bay has many small pristine untouched beaches and hidden lagoons. Here we will have the opportunity to swim or do some kayaking
Bai Tu Long Bay
Located east of Halong Bay and close to the Chinese border, Bai Tu Long Bay is every bit as beautiful as its famous neighbor. Indeed, in some ways it’s more beautiful, since it has scarily seen any tourist development. Notable attractions are Vung Vieng Fishing Village, which we will visit en route.
